After grouting the tile use silicone sealer to seal all around and underneath the sill.

Tiling a bathroom wall with a window. Make sure you do not use the. Then just tile up to the sill overhang and around the window opening. Draw a datum line one row above the bathroom floor. This means deciding where the first tiles will be laid and how the tiles will align with floor and wall joints.

Use another piece of tape to make a small well to catch the dust when you drill. This will allow you to leave room for the adhesive that will secure your tiles to the wall. Place a tile against the wall and add a tile spacer to the side of it. Then use your spirit level to draw a horizontal line known as a datum line at that height all the way around the room.

Secure the tile edging into thinset and use a large level to make sure it is plumb. Use corner edging tiles. Mark the wall where the edges of the corners will fall. Place some tape on the centre mark to prevent the drill.

Use corner edging tiles similar to countertop v caps but without the raised lip that forms the front edge of the counter. Install tiles around the window by spreading an even coat of thinset with a comb trowel. You shouldn t need to cut the tile unless it is an end tile that completes the row. Let the sill extend over the green board about 3 4 of an inch.

Marble granite or some other stone would be my choice. Tiles are cut as necessary to fit where they belong. Measure your tile height and mark a point on the bathroom wall that is 20mm below that height. Use a pencil to mark the spot where you need to drill.

A thin set mortar or tile adhesive is then applied to the surface they re going onto and the tiles are carefully fitted using spacers to leave gaps for the grouting that will go between them.
